Melbourne: Your guide to museums

Hi Pals,
Recently I was looking at maps [which I have a habit of doing] and noticed that there are a few museums near my work that I’d never even heard of. It got me thinking, how many museums are in Melbourne?

IMG_1222
Wikipedia listed around 40 museums, Airbnb said 30 but only listed 23 and TripAdvisor lists 64 if you tally them all up.
I had to remove the Art Galleries/Museums because it was too much – it’ll be in a separate post.

What classifies a Museum?
The International Association of Museums defines it as follows:
A non-profit making, permanent institution in the service of society and of its development, and open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits, for purposes of the study, education, and enjoyment, material evidence of people and their environment.

So with that, here’s a list of Museums in Melbourne that are worth some time.

Ubud-dah add this to your bucket list.

Hello Pals,

I recently went to Ubud for a friends birthday and ‘u bud-dah believe I loved it!’ (sorry.) Ubud was a fantastic time away; fresh food, lovely people and so many sights around that you understand why people want to come and live here. It’s away from Kuta and the party-feel (do the Shaka m8) so although it’s touristy it’s not your typical Australian southern cross tattoo, bin-tang singlet walk around with buckets of alcohol touristy.

Read below on some tips for what to do with your time in Ubud.

Monthly Moments: September

Hi Pals,

Thanks for checking in on my September.

I feel like I just started August and now it’s already October???
I ended my month spending time in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia with some of my favourite friends – so look out for my upcoming post on that later.

  • I had dinner with my favourite family member.
  • I made a video for a University class in which I realised I cannot read scripts.
  • I spent some time looking at the The Modern Life, tableware of the 1930s – 1980s currently in The National Gallery of Victoria
  • I didn’t finish a book in September which is a bit of a weird feeling.
  • Spent 5 hours on a Jetstar flight to arrive safe and sound in Bali. Then went and had a big family dinner at a Indonesian ‘Wurung’  (small family-owned business).
