Hi Pals,
I was recently looking at some things on maps near my work and noticed that there were a few museums I’d never heard of. It got me thinking, how many museums are in Melbourne?

Wikipedia lists around 40, Airbnb said 30 but only listed 23 and with TripAdvisor listing 64 – that’s a lot of museums.
What classifies a Museum?
The International Association of Museums defines it as follows:
A non-profit making, permanent institution in the service of society and of its development, and open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits, for purposes of the study, education, and enjoyment, material evidence of people and their environment.ย
So with that, here’s a list of Museums in Melbourne that are worth some time.
Iโve included a KEY to make the information more user-friendly!
