The rural city of Ararat is known as the gateway of the Grampians. It’s also a town that people simply pass by without a second thought. It was founded by the Chinese during the GoldRush times (1851 – c. 1914.) and sits upon the land of the traditional owners, the Djab Wurrung (soft language) people.
Country Victoria has so many cities worth visiting, it just depends on what you’re after in a weekend away!

Sounds like some pretty common knowledge to me. Just whip that out next time you’re at trivia.
