Recently I was looking at maps [which I have a habit of doing] and noticed that there are a few museums near my work that I’d never even heard of. It got me thinking, how many museums are in Melbourne?
Wikipedia listed around 40 museums, Airbnb said 30 but only listed 23 and TripAdvisor lists 64 if you tally them all up. I’m slowly going to them all and adding photos.
I had to remove the Art Galleries/Museums because it was too much – it’ll be in a separate post.
What classifies a Museum? The International Association of Museums defines it as follows: A non-profit making, permanent institution in the service of society and of its development, and open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits, for purposes of the study, education, and enjoyment, material evidence of people and their environment.
So with that, here’s a list of Museums in Melbourne that are worth some time.
FYI: This post is currently going under html format changes. Super sorry if it’s giving you any issues!
Working that 9-5 [“what a way to make a living”] can make socialising a little bit difficult when you don’t want it to revolve around drinking. Now, Melbourne sure is big on that- but it’s also big on food, arts and culture!
I’ve gone ahead and read through numerous threads, forums, books and magazines to make a Monday – Friday after work/date/socialising calendar. All you really need is your Myki. Some I’ve done, some of my friends have and others I’ve just found through their websites or word of mouth.
So, with that – Here’s a list of things to do in Melbourne after 5pm on weekdays. Last Update: November 2018
I recently went to the capital of Australia, Canberra for a weekend away. The main reason I go is that I have friends who live there but I also really enjoy the city!
You might have heard that Canberra recently made #3 in a Lonely Planet for Top Cities, along with Seville, Detroit, Hamburg and Oslo. However, it’s for those cities they believe is up and coming. (Unsure about why Oslo is there? It’s probably because of a) the cost to get there B) then cost to stay there. I don’t think that’s reason enough but hey, I’m not LP.)
The reason I’m doing this post is that whilst in Canberra we got talking about lists why you should go there. I’m not going to link the list, but the last reason was that “you can pet a cheetah.” Can you do it? Yes. Should you do it? Probably not.
Anyways, these are my favourite things in Canberra to do and thus What you should do when you go to Canberra!
Melbourne is one of my favourite cities, I’m obviously biased because I also call it my home (for right now.) I’ve lived in Melbourne since 2010, and I love when people are in town so you’re are able to show them things you normally miss out on! Here’s what I recently did on a day out!
Hi Pals, I’ve been frequenting Canberra for a while now seeing as a few of good friends live up there. I kind of want to move to Canberra – the people are friendly, coffee is good and there is a hella good all vegan cafe called ‘Sweet Bones‘ up there too. The last time I was there was for Nika’s birthday and Chola’s art show. We figured, we all had some spare time so why not make it a road trip back to Melbourne.
