six months of see-ya to fast fashion.

Hello Pals,

It’s been over six months since i purchased new clothes.* I think like so many people, I had that period of time where my drawers and cupboards were just overflowing with items; half probably still having tags on them. Looking back, I tried to buy items I liked but had nothing to wear with, or I tried to buy items I wished I could wear but didn’t feel like me.

When I went Asheville in North Carolina to visit a a best pal, we spoke about things that matter to us, what we want to do with our lives. I wanted to be more economical and sustainable with my choices. After living with the same clothes for majority of my trip around Canada and Mexico for 9 months I realised that most new clothes were purchased second hand so why not try a whole year?

A whole list of time wasters.

Hello Pals,

With everything going on, I’ve made a big old list of things to do during this time. Some are very pointless (see me running a paperclip business for no real reason) and some help other things (donating grains of rice for every trivia answer you get.) Otherwise it’s just countless ways to waste time.

2019 Reading Challenge

Hi Pals,
Every year I try and read 20 books. This year I didn’t even cheat. I track progress via the GoodReads Reading Challenge.
I didn’t have an excellent reading year for 2019; mostly, I didn’t enjoy a lot of the books I read. Should I give up on books I don’t like? Yes. Will I? Probably not.

2018 Reading Challenge

Hi Pals,
Every year I try and read 20 books. This year, technically I cheated but that’s if you count the start and the end date (you do.) I didn’t count the finishing date for my last book. We can’t all be perfect in the GoodReads Reading Challenge!

Monthly Moments: November

Hi Pals,

Thanks for checking in on my November.

November for me just flew by! I’m still shocked that Halloween came, went and now I’m supposed to be thinking about Christmas. What gives?! I don’t know what I’m doing for the holiday period – but I’m thinking about going away. November was a busy, busy month for me!

Monthly Moments: October

Hi Pals,

Thanks for checking in on my October.

October is one of my favourite months. This time around it was a bit exhausting but still had brilliant bits. I’ve been planning my next leg overseas (Malaysia) as well as my move overseas starting with a trip to Greece before Canada.  It’s the first month of Spring in Australia, rooftop bars are opening and more doggos are showing up in parks. It also ends with Halloween (a post will be later about that) but right now, here’s what happened in October.

Monthly Moments: August

Hi Pals,

August was pretty fantastic. I spent my time doing the following;

– Mario kart tour of Tokyo, Japan.
– Seeing my friend who I last saw in Bolivia four years ago!
– Having brunch with my Uncle and Aunt.
– Spending the day exploring The NSW Art Gallery and having great coffee & cake with my favourite gal pal!
– Having a Twitter meet up & winning $10 on a scratchy.

What you should know about Lasik Eye Surgery.

Hiya Pals,

If you’re a [former] glasses wearer like me, you’ve probably thought about Lasik Eye Surgery. Lasik (Laser Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis but lets keep it short) is essentially a correction of your eye. It reshapes the inner cornea so that you can focus more clearly with vision. It’s been around for ages and has thousands of studies. Feel free to go check them all out, or if you’re like me just google “lasik gone wrong” – actually please don’t do that.

If you’ve been thinking about going and booking in to get your eyes done, Heres what you need to know about Lasik.

Melbourne is one of my favourite cities, I’m obviously biased because I also call it my home (for right now.) I’ve lived in Melbourne since 2010, and I love when people are in town so you’re are able to show them things you normally miss out on! Here’s what I recently did on a day out!
